Mark A. Cornetta

Mark Cornetta joined KUSA-TV, Gannett’s NBC affiliate in Denver, Colorado, in December 1987, as an Account Executive. In May 1988, he was named National Sales Manager. In June of 1990 he was named Local Sales Manager and in June of ’92 became KUSA’s General Sales Manager. In November of 1995, Mark was promoted to Vice President & General Sales Manager. In June of 2005 Mark was named President & General Manager of KUSA-TV. In January of 2014 Mark was named Senior Vice President of Gannett Broadcasting now TEGNA.

Prior to joining Channel 9, Mark was an Account Executive for KCNC-TV in Denver from June 1984 thru December 1987. He worked as a Media Buyer at DiIorio Wergeles Advertising in New York and as a research intern at Katz Communications, New York prior to moving to Colorado.

Mark is a 1982 graduate of St. John’s University in New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Marketing. A native of Garden City, NY and one of eight children, Mark is married and has a daughter Claire a graduate of Wake Forest University. Mark was named the Rex Howell Broadcaster of the year in 2009 by the Colorado Broadcasters Association for his efforts to lead the Denver market through the transition from analog to digital television and named 2010 Gannett Manager of the year.

Outside of work Mark enjoys physical fitness, golf, flying airplanes and spending time with family.
